Settle coasters were born from the same design philosophy that shaped our Ridl bottle opener. We aimed to extend Ridl’s organic curves into a new, refined piece, one that could both complement and stand alone. Our goal was simple: to create something that felt intrinsically connected to the fluidity of Ridl while offering a fresh take on elegance for your bar collection.
the story of settle
What really pushed Settle forward, however, was our deep appreciation for the lost-wax casting process. This ancient method, known for its ability to produce intricate, detailed forms, offered the perfect avenue to explore the organic beauty we were after. Each curve, dip, and rise is a testament to the mastery that lost-wax casting brings to life, providing the right balance of craftsmanship and innovation.
One of our first ideas was to capture these curves through the top profile, experimenting with edges that transitioned from thick to thin, providing the piece with an evolving shape that feels almost alive. The top profile echoed the essence of Ridl’s smooth contours, while the rounded edges gave Settle its own distinct personality.
Through this process, Settle evolved into more than just a coaster. It became a piece of art—one that carries the DNA of Ridl but stands as a statement on its own. Its mirror-polished stainless steel finish not only reflects light beautifully but also connects it to Flow, completing a trio that belongs together. Whether placed beneath a glass or displayed as part of a curated collection, Settle offers both form and function in perfect harmony.
The design process for Settle was driven by our fascination with movement. We explored ways to translate that sense of fluidity into a form that was both functional and graceful.
