the story of fibonacci hook
The Fibonacci Hook by Lood takes inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence and golden ratio, creating a design that harmonizes nature’s patterns with contemporary functionality. This Melbourne-made coat hook embodies the curves of the golden spiral, emerging from the wall as a refined and sculptural piece.
The result is a stunning, mirror finish that highlights the hook’s organic shape. Rigorous testing and precision craftsmanship went into ensuring its strength and functionality. With a commitment to small production runs and sustainable practices, each Fibonacci Hook is a celebration of a young designers’ talent and eco-conscious innovation.
Using CAD models and 3D-printed prototypes, we refined the form of the Fibonacci Hook. In the final prototyping stage, we adopted lost-wax casting, a technique we began exploring for other products. This method enabled us to craft the Fibonacci hook in mirror-polished stainless steel—an ideal material to highlight it’s elegant curves. The transition to casting necessitated a redesign of the mounting hook, improving durability and stability while maintaining its sleek profile.
Ideal for modern interiors, this hook serves as both a functional object and an art piece, making it a unique addition to any space.
